In October of 2010 I was doing one of my affiliate offers that I choose each month and this month I wanted to do it over Basketball product since the NBA season was starting and I knew that my Chicago Bulls was going to the championship this year. Which by the looks of it I think we have a chance. But, I chose an Clickbank product that I felt was quite similar to what I wanted to be apart of and I just started really getting more interested in using advertisement space on Facebook as well. So, I thought about combining Facebook Ads with Clickbank to see how the conversions would of came out to be.
Well, the conversions were not that bad and I made some $$$ with the program as well. But, what I did not know was the traffic I was going to get after the fact of me making the blog post which went over in detail the process of making the ad and choosing the correct product via Clickbank. All of a sudden a lot of people started coming to my blog and commenting more and I was really trying to figure out where this traffic was coming from. I checked into my Google Analytics and noticed the post I made for Facebook Clickbank Ads was getting a lot of attention in the search engines for the keywords that I have used within the blog post itself. I rose very high for those keywords Clickbank Facebook Ads in 2 months. I fell on the first page and I was blown away truly.
I was just trying to go over simple information for my amazing readers so they could learn how to implement some of the knowledge that I have. But, from that simple post it gave me some great rankings, backlinks, and constant traffic that I truly appreciate. So, for some of my readers that wonder about SEO and how to rank high with certain keywords this is what you should try and do:
- Check out Google Keyword Tool and see what phrases or keywords people are searching for on a monthly basis and narrow your keywords or phrases down to three.
- Go after words or phrases that have a very small search volume as it would be easy for you to rank higher and faster going after those phrases if you were to go after something higher.
- Put those phrases or keywords in your posts about 3 to 5 times as when the search engines scrawl your site they will be watching out for those.
- Put at least one of the phrases or keywords in the title of the blog post. This is a very simple step but a lot of bloggers do not do this at all.
- Continuously try and retweet and bring attention to that post that you are trying to get higher within the search engines. Maybe you can even try and ask some big bloggers within your niche to leave a comment or share it with their friends and followers.
SEO is a very tricky game so you have to be very creative and you have to put your readers first along with the search engines. Think of it as a good game of checkers and how you want to be king. You have to think of a good way of getting to the other side of that board and not get caught. That is the same way you need to think of blogging and search engines. You want to make it to that number one spot without getting blocked from users or becoming spam so think creative and be consistent.
